Workplace Harassment Form

On September 16, 2024, Southwestern Human Resources Consulting (SWHRC) reported information regarding three sexual harassment cases on which the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) had recently filed suit.

The EEOC has again communicated that it is suing two additional employers for sexual harassment. The alleged conduct in both cases includes sexual harassment of teenage employees. As with the prior sexual harassment cases reported, one of the cases, includes, but is not limited to the conduct of the General Manager, while the other case involves the President and majority owner of the business.

In the first case, the EEOC signifies that the company failed to take action and allowed the manager to continue working closely with those who had alleged he had harassed them. The article also indicated he had a prior history of sexually harassing an underage employee at another worksite. They also stated that when an underage employee complained of sexual harassment by their bartender, that the company admonished the employee for complaining, and later kept her from working as a sever. In the second case, the EEOC stated that the employer did not provide employees with a harassment policy that defined the conduct constituting sexual harassment. They also stated the company did not provide details on how to report harassment and did not signify to whom to report it.
