EEOC Employee Categorization
The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) recently announced electronic publication of its EEO-1, 3, 4, and 5 data for 2019 and 2020, each of which represents different categories of employers and their employment statistics on minorities and women. The EEOC has also made available a “charge visualization tool” which allows the public to view aggregated
Data on different types of charges filed from 1997 to 2021 by state.
In addition, the EEOC concluded conducting its listening tours for their new enforcement strategic plan. (The prior plan was effective for fiscal years 2018-2022.) The last listening session in September was over five hours long, and we are still in the process of sifting through the information. However, the session began with a debate regarding whether the EEOC had made
the strategic plan sufficiently accessible to the public for comment. In fact, a recent online search of the plan shows only the announcement of the listening tours and the prior strategic plan in the top searches. However, we will continue to monitor this item for updates to include in future Southwestern HR Consulting postings.
